The Labor of Love

The vase that has the photos in different stages is made from spaulted Maple wood. which means the tree wood downed and dried naturally. It was made of staves like a whiskey barrel. It is also made of Sapela wood and the white highlight strips are also made of a very light colored Maple.

Ben can work on a piece from 4-6 weeks and it is a labor of love.

Some of the photos show drawings on a block of wood, which is how he begins the interlocking spheres.
